Suppressing Evidence: Another Win for RSB

by | Dec 27, 2017 | Criminal Law

John Rogers and David Mueller successfully litigated a motion to suppress in Lafayette County, MO. After reviewing the case and taking the Highway Patrolman’s deposition, John Rogers led the defense towards a winning motion to suppress over five pounds of a controlled substance found in our client’s trunk. Mr. Rogers identified the illegal search and persuaded the court to suppress all the evidence because the patrolman illegally detained and searched the client on interstate 70. The Court agreed that the trooper had overstepped the constitution when he turned the routine traffic stop into a witch hunt that carried a potential life sentence.

Remember, remaining silent and refusing consent to search is often times the only way you can protect yourself from profiling and predatory policing.
